Four allowances, not one
Every plan includes a monthly allowance of AI work, split into four buckets:
- AI drafting โ making new post copy out of something that was not post copy yet: an idea, a prompt, a photo, a clipped article.
- AI rewrites โ reworking copy that already exists: adapting a post for another platform, polishing, generating variations.
- Post idea generation โ producing ideas rather than post copy.
- Voice re-training โ re-running the voice interview from Settings to teach DemandBird how you write.
They are separate on purpose. Heavy rewriting does not eat into your drafts, and a month spent re-training your voice does not touch either.
| AI & usage limits | Pro | Business | Agency |
|---|---|---|---|
| AI drafting | 90/mo | 140/mo | 450/mo |
| AI rewrites | 60/mo | 110/mo | 340/mo |
| Post idea generation | 100/mo/account | 200/mo/account | 500/mo/account |
| Voice re-training | 2/mo | 4/mo | 10/mo |
| AI images | 50/mo | 150/mo | 400/mo |
Counted per action, not per model call
One "draft this" counts as one draft, even though it runs several passes underneath โ voice matching, a platform shaping pass, a critique pass. Counting three would make the published number meaningless.
The counters are per account, not per user and not per workspace. An agency on one bill has one pool. Everyone on the team draws from it, and no client workspace can be starved by another's usage because there is only the one pool.
What is not counted
Work you did not ask for is never counted against you:
- The weekly post-ideas email digest
- Learning your voice from your past posts and your edits
- Working out what a message you sent means before acting on it
- Content moderation
- The voice interview you do during onboarding, and importing your past posts
Counting those would make a background job, or your first hour in the product, look like usage you chose.

Generated images are separate
AI image generation has its own monthly allowance, counted in images rather than in actions, and it is not drawn from any of the four buckets above. See AI image studio for the per-plan credit numbers and what happens when they run out.
What happens if you go past one
Nothing stops. You keep drafting, rewriting and generating ideas exactly as before, and DemandBird does not interrupt you, refuse an action, or ask you to upgrade mid-sentence.
The numbers are what your plan includes, not a wall. They are set far above real use โ the busiest account we have ever seen used well under half of the entry-plan drafting allowance in a month โ so going past one is unusual enough that we would rather look at it than automate a refusal.
If an account runs a long way past what it includes, we get in touch. That is a conversation about whether you are on the right plan, not a switch we flip.
When it resets
At the start of each calendar month, in UTC. Unused allowance does not roll over.
Raising an allowance
Upgrading takes effect immediately โ the higher allowance applies to the rest of the current month, it does not wait for the next one. Usage already counted stays counted.
If your usage pattern does not fit the published tiers, talk to us. We can set a custom allowance on an account without moving you to a plan you do not otherwise need.
Where these numbers live
The allowances above are read straight from the same source as the pricing page, and the app counts against them on the server at every entry point โ the editor, the API, MCP, SMS and WhatsApp all pass through the same counter. There is no path that uses AI without recording it, which is what makes the published number mean something even though nothing is blocked.
